Shopping tips in Korea

Less than a week 
We are going to Seoul, Korea!

My first time holiday trip with Glampreneur to Korea. 

What the big deal??

Because its FREE!! 
Bawak duit untuk SHOPPING je. Makan tidur berjalan semua dah fully sponsored. 


Disebabkan cuma perlu bawak duit shopping je, so WAJIB kena tau tempat-tempat shopping yang popular kat sana & apa nak dibeli.

Seoul has tons of great shopping, but where to start? Read this guide to know where you should go & why!


Shopping in Myeongdong
MyeongDong is the centre for shopping in Korea. Intrnational Brand names from around the world make their first entrance into korea at Myeongdong. Big names such as H&M, Zara, Nike, UNIQLO, etc with retail stores can be found here. The Myeongdong street are lined with cosmetics shops, restaurants, cafes too. All the shops are open until the late hours of the night. Beside the international brand, Popular Korean brands  such as Bean Pole, Banila B, Crux, Codes Combine can be found here. 
There are also the famous Lotte Department Store, which has several floors of duty free shopping where you can shops hands free ( buy and pick up at the airport).

Shopping in Myeongdong is one of the best experience Seoul can offer. 

Tips: Many stores in Myeongdong offer discount for travellers. The type of discount & the requirement may be differ for each stores. (showing passport, flight ticket, spend over 50,000 won.. etc)


Shopping in Dongdaemun
Dongdaemun Market has been one of the major markets in Korea. Specilizing in wholesale clothing, having more than 20 shopping malls. Full range of fashion items that cover from head to toe at inexpensive prices. the market always crowded with retailers, foreigners, customer & tourists. 
There are several large buildings, such as Doota or Migilore, dedicated to Korean made fashion. 

The main steet divides Dongdaemun Market into 2 sections - Section 1 is on the Doosan Tower side, & Section 2 is on Stadium side. 

Section 1: Have huge shopping malls where wholesale & retail goods can be found. They have convenient facilities like money exchanges, information desk with English speaking staff, pleasant interior. Opening from 10am to 5 am the next day. 

Section 2: Shopping mall in section 2 mainly sell goods in bulk& wholesale. They open at 8pm & close at 8 am or 5pm next day. 

Tips: Refunds & exchanges are not guaranteed, so have to make sure the quality & sizes are correct. No fitting room to try the garments. 


Boutique at Dongdaemun

Insadong Street
This place is famous for traditional Korean Handirafts. The market holds over 400-500 shops full of spectacular items including jewellery, clothes, statues, lamps, umbrellas, key chains, masks, wooden toys etc. Some of them are claimed to be artefacts from was of chosen dynasty. 



ShinChon Fashion Street
Shinchon is the home to a several private universities, earning its nickname of 'University Streets of Shinchon'. Inparticular the street between shinchon station and Edae (Ewha Women's University) is a shopper's paradise, offering wide range of styles and prices. the collection of trendy stores, bars, delicious cuisine draws out of throngs of college students, making this one of the most creative and energetic places in the city.
